Upstream - Case Study in Progress

The Problem

The feedback loop between students and teachers is currently inefficient and primitive. Students rely on the once-a-semester parent teacher conferences to get an understanding of how they're doing goal-wise, and teachers rarely give feedback.

Most of the solutions are subpar at best, enabling little to no structured support for goals, and typically just allowing comments on certain assignments in the margins. The communications loop is nonexistent, which is where we came up with the idea of Upstream.

The Outcome

In the span of a month, my cofounder and I designed, developed, and sold this platform to an education technology VC. We created a web app with full functionality for the following: Goal setting, editing, feedback, messages, progress tracking, settings, and class creation/management. All features work both and the student and teachers sides, and it should be fully launched by next month! Contact me for the source code.
